Kindle 2 question, ebooks in Canada from US?

I have a Kindle 2, but I don’t have an US credit card. How can I get ebooks without a US address? Or is my Kindle 2 useless for me?

Unfortunately, you cannot get any Kindle ebooks without an US credit card and address, as you can see in the question “Is Kindle available to customers outside the United States?” here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fhelp%2Fcustomer%2Fdisplay.html%3Fie%3DUTF8%26nodeId%3D200316870%26ref%255F%3Dhp%255Fnavbox%255Fhh%255Fk2faq&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

I’m not sure if you can find a U.S. friend to help. The problem will be solved by registering your Kindle with his/her Amazon account. There is a good discussion about this here:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fgp%2Fforum%2Fcd%2Fdiscussion.html%3Fie%3DUTF8%26cdForum%3DFxBVKST06PWP9B%26cdPage%3D1%26cdThread%3DTxY5C3QQT7MCI1&tag=moreinfo-po-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957

If you cannot find an Amazon account with US address and credit card, then you cannot buy any books on your Kindle. However, you can still get some free books to read on the Kindle from some websites like this one:

http://manybooks.net/

Hope it helps :)
