Kindle 2 Pdf Review
May the joy of being heard worldwide! The larger 9.7 inch DX Kindle is now available for use in over 100 countries around the world (and not just in the U.S.). This gives everyone the opportunity to choose between the 6-inch "regular" Kindle (AKA "Kindle with Global Wireless") and Kindle DX 9.7 inches.
While the difference between the display size (DX is significantly higher) and price points (from the DX is now more $ 200 more expensive) are the most obvious differences when comparing the two Kindles are not the only differences.
Another clear difference is the memory. To go along with its larger screen, the DX also has a larger memory. It has a capacity of about 3,500 books, while the smaller version can contain "only" about 1,500 books. Now if you're like me you're probably thinking that 1,500 books and is more than enough space, so I'm not quite sure what constitutes a major selling point.
Two other features that only has DX:
(1) An automatic rotation screen (with the smaller device has to manually adjust the screen) so that when you do so on his side's point of view is automatically (this is good to see some visual material.)
(2) a PDF reader. While a PDF reader can be added to the regular version.
Clearly These additional features are huge selling points, I think this is largely a question of size. If you want a bigger screen then you want to get the DX. The larger screen is especially useful with newspaper reading (yes you can get a newspaper subscription that is automatically downloaded every day with this device.)
Both of these devices have the same ability to download (from anywhere, not hunting for a Wi-Fi) from a selection of 400,000 + books. And only takes about 60 seconds to download an entire book. They also have a Basic web browswer designed to navigate Text-based sites such as Wikipedia. And there is no monthly wireless charges, once you purchase a Kindle has wireless service for life (something like a GPS unit.)
