Yes. The main differences between the Kindle DX and the Kindle 2 are:
- Kindle DX can read PDF files natively. For Kindle 2, it needs to be converted to Kindle format first before reading on the device
- Kindle DX has auto-rotating screen
- Screen size of the Kindle DX is bigger
- Kindle DX has more memory and longer battery life

In my opinion, if you don’t need to read PDF files with complicated charts and tables, then the Kindle 2 is good enough to stay with. However, if you can afford the money, it is always better to go for device with better capability. You’ll never know if you need those functions in the future…
